Dr. Susan Reimbold is a board-certified Optometrist. She provides personal family eye care with a special emphasis in the diagnosis and management of ocular disease. She also has extensive knowledge of reading disorders and learning differences to benefit parents of patients struggling in school. She has been in private practice in the Atlanta area since 1997.
After earning a Genetics degree from the University of Georgia she went on to Pennsylvania College of Optometry. There she earned her doctorate degree with honors and was selected as clinician of the year for her class and beta sigma kappa. After graduation she was honored by being selected to complete a rigorous ocular disease residency at the Baltimore VA Medical Center / Johns Hopkins University’s Wilmer Eye Institute. There she specialized in the management of ocular disease, refractive surgery, glaucoma, retinopathy, and ocular effects of systemic disease. Dr Reimbold has been published and has lectured at many conferences including the International American Academy of Optometry meeting in Sydney, Australia.
She is currently working with a partner to develop a dyslexia center to service all the therapys and needs of a child with a reading disorder including; parent education, ocupational therapy, educational therapy, vision therapy, speech pathology all under one roof. Our goal is to preserve self esteeme, focusing on each childs unique gifts while strengthening their weaknesses.
She lives in Cumming with her husband and their two children. She homeschools both her children, develops and teaches a science lab: S.T.E.M. Prepared Labs to promote a love for sceince in young children, is involved with teaching Atlanta Rhythm Cadets indoor drum line and enjoys Hiking and being outdoors.
